The hôtel de la Place du Louvre

In the heart of Paris

Between Rue de Rivoli and Pont-Neuf

The Hôtel de la Place du Louvre is housed in a 17th-century building in the first arrondissement of Paris, at the crossroads of the capital’s foundational eras. During the 19th century, the street was a meeting place for bohemians and intellectuals including Chateaubriand, Balzac, Victor Hugo, and Casimir Perrier, who started meeting at Café Momus in 1841. Welcome to the heart of historical Paris…

This former private mansion harmoniously combines the memory of its past, complete with refined architectural details, and the contemporary era, through a collection of photographs by artists such as Esther Stocker, Laurent Millet, and Jean-Christophe Ballot. In the bedrooms, their works take you on a poetic, designer, or architectural journey, offering a change of scenery through their creative worlds.

Located near the Seine River, overlooking both the Church of Saint-Germain l’Auxerrois and the colonnade of the Louvre Museum, the Hôtel de la Place du Louvre is an oasis of calm in the heart of a bustling city. The iconic church lies to your right, built in the seventh century and renowned for its melodious bells, organs, and numerous gargoyles. On your left is the Louvre’s colonnade, a masterpiece of French Classicism built between 1667 and 1770 after an architectural competition. Heritage lovers will want to visit the Musée Picasso, La Samaritaine, the Musée Carnavalet, and the Centre Pompidou, while walkers can enjoy the banks of the Seine, the famous Pont-Neuf, and the renowned Marais neighborhood. And don’t forget to indulge in a spot of shopping at Châtelet-les-Halles!
